THE Linton Singers are holding a singing workshop in Carlops Hall which is to be run by the composer Paul Mealor on February 21.

Paul rose to fame following his composition of music for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton and he also wrote the Military Wives Choir’s number one single Wherever You Are. The day will start with coffee/tea and at 10am Paul will commence the workshop through until 12.30pm when we will stop for lunch.

The afternoon session will start at 1.30pm and run until 4pm. There will then be a break with afternoon refreshments at 4.30pm. The music to be worked on are four pieces by Paul - Love’s As Warm as Tears, Locus Iste, The Beatitudes, Peace and Morten Lauridsen’s Sure on this Shining Night.

There will be a concert in Carlops Hall from 6pm to 7pm based on the works studied during the day (Tickets £5). The fee for the workshops is £20 to cover the cost of music and catering expenses. The event is open to singers who register their interest with the secretary@lintonsingers.org by January 31. There will be a limit on numbers, so please make your booking early. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to the workshop.
