THE Borders came alive as chart star Nina Nesbitt took to the stage at The Restaurant at Kailzie Gardens, near Peebles. The sold out performance in front of an intimate audience of 250 people marked the Borders debut for the Edinburgh singer. Supported by Galashiels singer Craig Jeffrey, Nina performed an acoustic set, including hit single Stay Out and latest release Selfies. The open air performance in the stunning Courtyard at Kailzie Gardens, was the first for the venue, who hope that many more artists will be attracted to perform, given Saturday’s success. Nina herself, says she hopes to return next year. With an indoor and outdoor bar, oak smoked BBQ and even hot chocolate as the night got cooler, the team at Kailzie had thought of everything, creating a unique and memorable experience for all who attended. Following the gig, Nina did signings in the restaurant’s newly opened farm shop, The Larder, for over an hour, giving fans the opportunity to meet with the star and have their picture taken too.

Since Amanda and Stuart Clink took over and renovated the Restaurant at Kailzie Gardens in 2010, they have developed an enviable reputation, and attracted visitors from the Borders and beyond.

This new platform will broaden their appeal further and allow a new market of customers to discover the magic of Kailzie, and drive business to the Borders as a whole. Who will they have to perform next? We’ll need to watch this space.
