MORE than 120 participants were welcomed to the second Tweed Valley walking event.

Visitors travelled from as far afield as Leeds, York, Newcastle, Aberdeen, Forfar, Glasgow, Fife, central belt of Scotland as well as closer to home.

Organiser Matthew Kerr said: “It was a great chance to show off our fabulous Borders countryside. “We had very positive feedback with typical comments being 'bring it on next year, 'it was all perfect!’, 'excellent information from walk leaders’, 'we’ll be back’.

“The walking weekend could not go ahead without a lot of help and thanks go to everyone who everyone who helped plan, organise, lead, back mark, bake, serve, entertain, barbecue and clean. Without those efforts the weekend would not have been able to go ahead.” The festival will be going ahead next year from Friday, June 10, to Sunday, June 12.
