ORGANISERS of a Peebles fundraising fashion night have hailed the event a success.

The evening raised around £2,000, with funds going towards Peebles Baptist Church's new church and community building, being planned for the South Side of Peebles.

Over 130 tickets were sold, with Peeblesshire residents filling the Burgh Hall.

The evening was hosted by David McGrath, of Graham McGrath Menswear. David introduced models from the Baptist Church, wearing fashions from M&Co with the children wearing clothes from Castle Warehouse.

Coffee and cake were served at half time, where attendees also had the opportunity to place their bugs on 15 silent auction items, ranging from a meal for two at the Barony Hotel, a full car valet at Harrisons, and the services of a Bagpiper to pipe in the New Year.

Rev. Ian K. Gray from Peebles Baptist Church, told the Peeblesshire News: "The Fashion Show has been a huge success, both financially and in terms of having fun and building relationships in the community.

"We are hugely grateful to the many people who made the show happen: M&Co, Castle Warehouse, David McGrath, all the people and businesses who donated items for the auction, the small army of people who planned, prepared, publicised, set up, and catered, and of course to everyone who came along on the night."

But the fundraising efforts don't stop there.

The next event is Afternoon Tea, with home baking plus book and craft stalls at the Leckie Memorial Church Hall on Saturday, October 22. Then on Friday, November 11 between 7pm to 9.30pm in the Macfarlane Hall, there will be a Ladies Pamper Night.

The evening will feature beauty treatments, demonstrations, pop-up clothes shop, baked potatoes, soft drinks and more.

Tickets for pamper night are £10, and available from Lindsey on by calling 07865 081369.
