GREEN-fingered pupils at Priorsford primary are digging in after picking up a funding boost from the Barony Castle Hotel.
Earlier this year the hotel launched its community support project to help the six local primary schools in the surrounding area.
Priorsford pupils opted to buy plants and equipment with the financial grant to develop the school garden.
And this week they began planting.
Karen Jaques, who is a sales and marketing consultant at the 72-bedroom hotel, told us: "We contacted six schools in the area to offer funds to buy resources of their choice.
"These choices are now being delivered and will continue to be delivered throughout the year."
As well as buying two planters for the school entrance, they have also used the money for two raised beds to be built in the grounds.
Pupils already have potatoes planted and they have now purchased leeks, strawberries, raspberries and peas to grow in existing raised beds.
The Barony Castle cash was also used to buy watering cans and other tools.
