NEW design proposals for the redevelopment of a historic hostelry will be revealed next week.

Architects will present their initial designs for the Crook Inn at a community workshop in Tweedsmuir Village Hall on Wednesday.

The workshop is another important step in the battle to save the inn, believd to be one of the oldest in Scotland.

W T Architecture will unveil initial designs for discussion and input from the community. Plans, diagrams and images will be shown with opportunities to respond to these first ideas for the design of the redeveloped Crook Inn. There will be drop-in sessions from 3pm to 9pm and design team presentations with questions and answers at 4pm and 7pm.

This workshop follows the earlier consultations with lots of comments and feedback on August 27 in Tweedsmuir and further feedback on design ideas in Broughton at the time of the 'mini-mudder’ at Broughton Primary School on September 6.

The 410-year-old Crook Inn faced an uncertain future until it was bought by the community for £160,000 in January last year.
