A PEEBLES man will stand trial next month accused of attempting to pervert the course of justice following a crash in the town’s Rosetta Road.

Bruce Confrey, from Kingsland Square, is accused of driving without due care and colliding with vehicles on December 2.

The 48-year-old is also alleged to have fled the scene without leaving his details.

And later filing a false report to police that his vehicle had been stolen.

Mr Confrey denies the three charges.

On a separate complaint, he is also accused of puncturing tyres on a vehicle in Young Street on March 29.

He will stand trial on all charges at the town’s Sheriff Court on November 26.
