NOMAD Beat, the Peebles community music school, is a finalist in ITV’s “The People’s Millions” lottery competition run in partnership with ITV and The Big Lottery Fund. Alison Cameron, manager and founder of Nomad Beat, said: “Winning this award will mean that Nomad Beat can expand its philosophy of Music for All by purchasing specially adapted musical instruments and offering tuition to clients who feel challenged by orthodox routes to learning to play a musical instrument and making music.” To win this award, Nomad Beat needs your support for its project “Breaking Sound Barriers” by making telephone calls on voting day, Wednesday, November 26. Voting calls can be made from 9am until midnight on both landlines and mobile telephones. The voting telephone numbers will be made available at 9am on voting day and up to ten calls can be made from each telephone at a cost of 15p per call.

The voting numbers can be found on websites www.nomadbeat.com and www.peoplesmillions.org.uk and on Facebook page Breaking Sound Barriers.

Flyers with the voting numbers will be delivered to around 2,500 households and will be handed out around the town on the voting day. A short film about the project, “Breaking Sound Barriers”, will be screened on the ITV Borders 6 o’clock news on voting day. Please give your support by telephone and urge your relatives and friends anywhere in the UK to add their support.
