INCHORUS is holding a special 'Handbags & Gladrags’ fundraising event to raise money for exciting new projects for the 100-strong Peebles choir.

The event will be a night of pampering for the ladies with a large range of good quality second hand clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories.

This will be the third 'Handbags & Gladrags’ held by InChorus. The last very successful sale took place in 2011, so they are hoping for similar support this time.

Mini beauty therapies, such as manicures and eyebrow care, will be on offer, and there will be stalls selling Harris Tweed crafts, jewellery and also deli foods.

There will be a raffle for a magnificent 'Pamper Hamper’ and a 'Gourmet Hamper’. Amongst the other prizes are a half day’s pampering at Stobo, a meal at the Tontine and a meal for six, delivered to your home, from Meldon Catering.

Tickets are £3 and include a glass of wine to help shoppers relax into the ambience of the evening.

The proceeds will go towards Inchorus’ plan to take part in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to showcase the choir’s unique brand of contemporary and popular musical arrangements in a three night show at the end of August.

Lorna Turnbull, InChorus choir manager, said: “InChorus is used to raising money for other charities and good causes, but every so often it is necessary to raise money for ourselves to assist with choir development.

“This year InChorus would like to take part in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to promote musical talent from the Scottish Borders, but we have to ensure we have enough money to reserve a suitable venue for our rather large choir and musical friends.

“Handbags & Gladrags will be a night of pampering, shopping and fun, and you never know, there may well be some entertainment from some 'InHouse InChoristers’!” 'Handbags & Gladrags’ will take place in the MacFarlane Hall, Peebles, on Saturday, May 9 from 7pm until 10.30pm. Tickets are available at the door.
