SCOTTISH Borders Council won’t repair a roadside wall in Walkerburn unless it is deemed dangerous, community councillors heard this week.
Warning cones have been erected around the damaged property on the A72 after a car smashed into it last July.
And Walkerburn Community Council heard the local authority has no obligation to maintain it.
Speaking at the community council’s first meeting of the New Year in the Public Hall last week, Councillors Gavin Logan, who represents the area on Scottish Borders Council, said: “It is absolutely not the council’s responsibility. It’s an insurance job.”
