Peebles S1 38-0 Hawick S1

Peebles S1 41-03 Berwickshire S1

Peebles S1 32-01 St George’s S1

PEEBLES Netball’s youngest squad had the chance to put their practice moves into match play over the last week with no fewer than three matches over a few days of Scottish Schools’ Cup and Aitken Turnbull Border League fixtures.

Convincing wins against Hawick and St George’s school teams, along with a previous commanding victory over Edinburgh’s George Watson’s puts Peebles S1s at the top of their group in the qualifying round of the Scottish Schools’ Cup.

With Peebles living up to its name as Netball Scotland’s Secondary School of the Year for the second year in succession, the S1 victories means that yet again all 4 of its school teams, from S1 to senior, have reached the gold section of the Scottish Schools’ Cup, all having won their respective qualifying sections comfortably.

And for good measure, the youngsters made the most of their outing to Berwickshire HS at the weekend to take in an Aitken Turnbull Border League fixture against Berwickshire producing another commanding win, showing the talent and potential amongst this squad.

All 4 Peebles school teams now await news of the knock-out stages of the Scottish Schools’ Cup with two of the teams, the S2 and S3 squads currently defending champions with pressure to retain their titles.
