UNCERTAINTY remains whether Biggar Under 18s have won the Girls Presidents Conference.

In a thrilling finale at Hartree Mill on Sunday the home team were pipped at the post by Stirling.

Biggar went one full score up and it looked as though they might hold on but Stirling had other thoughts and managed an equalising try.

Crucially the conversion was in front of the posts and the Stirling kicker, who had previously had a mixed day, made no mistake to put the ball through dead centre.

In the dying minutes Biggar went close to retaking the lead with two tries disallowed as the referee was unsighted and believed the ball to have been held up.

They could not convert and the defence of the Stirling Girls held strong. In the end Biggar ran out of time.

Tremendous spirit however with all smiles at the end of the match which says it all.

But while the large crowd left Hartree Mill understanding that the title would be shared, it appears that Biggar have now won as they earned a losing bonus which gives the club a total of 29 points to Stirling's 28.

The Biggar Under 15s played a tremendous match to eventually beat Stirling by 31 points to 17.

The teams had been locked together for much of the match but a late rally by the home girls was enough to take the points.

Thanks to Jane Denholm and Tammy Mitchell there was a 'winners' cake which was shared between all.

And all four 'girls of the match' received rugby ball pins as a memento of the day.
