RISING star of cycling Flora Gillies pedalled her way onto the podium at the British Universities Track Championships.
More than 200 top cyclists from universities and colleges across the country rolled into the Manchester Veledrome at the weekend.
The 19-year-old from Peebles, who was representing Napier University, claimed a silver medal in the Women's Points Race.
Flora finished five points behind eventual winner, Emma Cockcroft from Exeter, and five points clear of Loughborough's Lavar Clode in third.
The silver medal is Flora's second this month having finished second in the Women's Points Race at the Scottish Championships in Glasgow the previous week.
Flora rides for Team22 WRT, who are sponsored by Peebles based cycling podcaster Velocast.
