BORDERS athletes enjoyed medal success on Saturday in Edinburgh's Holyrood Park.
While the Callum Hawkins, Mo Farrah and Laura Muir grabbed most of the media attention, there were several impressive performances from local runners.
Gala Harrier Gregor Collins produced a tremendous run in the Inter-District Cross Country Championships to help the East of Scotland to team gold.
Gregor crossed the line in sixth from the field of 40 athletes in the Under 13s race.
Fellow Harrier Faisal Khursheed enjoyed a fantastic run in the Under 17s race to finish fourth.
Khursheed's run helped East of Scotland to team silver.
Calum Tharme, also from Gala Harriers ran well to finish 23rd in the same race.
Hawick's Louise Mercer, who runs for Edinburgh University, finished fifth in the women's senior race.
And, along with the 34th place by fellow Edinburgh Uni student Sophie Collins from Peebles, helped the Scottish Students to team bronze.
In the shorter Under 17 women's race, Katie Rourke from Gala Harriers ran strongly to come 14th and help the East of Scotland claim gold.
Mairi Wallace from the Moorfoot club was five places further back in 19th.
