THE future of netball in Peebles is looking bright following the unprecedented success of the recent Easter camps.
Since the formation of Peebles Netball over a decade ago dozens of national titles have come back to the town.
And several local players have progressed all the way to international level.
During the recent school holidays more than 50 primary school girls took to the court for coaching sessions and games.
Linda Nicholson from Peebles Netball told us: "This is the first time Peebles Netball has opened its doors to girls as young as Primary three, and the youngsters had great fun, with movement and ball games, in addition to some basic skill work.
"Many of the young hopefuls have been inspired by seeing their mums, aunties and older sisters playing in the local leagues run by Peebles Netball over the last year or so, and taking to the court themselves was a huge excitement for them."
Peebles Netball hopes to build on the success of the Easter events by staging more camps over the summer.
