Finlay Dewar, 14, led the way taking golds in the 200m breaststroke and 50m freestyle and silvers in the 200m freestyle and 200m indiviudal medley in the Portobello Mad March Meet at Prestonpans.

On the first day of the event nine-year-old Kate Banner won a silver in the 50m butterfly while Jodie Pyman, 11, took runner-up medals in the 200m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

Nine children from Peebles took part in the event on March 15 and 16, with the eight to 11-year-olds in action on the Saturday and the 12 and overs the following day.

Finlay managed three personal best during his medal-winning performances only missing out in the 200m freestyle.

Kate recored personal bests on the way to her silver medal and in the 50m freestyle.

The other nine-year-olds taking part, Wendy Guiney, Rory Pyman and Arran Cameron, all performed with credit.

Wendy took part in 50m Freestyle, Breaststroke and Backstroke plus 100m individual medley. She reduced her time in the backstroke and the individual medley.

Rory and Arran swam 50m all strokes plus 100m indiviudal medley with Rory reducing his time in the butterfly, backstroke and individual medley and Arran reducing his in backstroke, freestyle and individual medley.

Abbie Sorrell swam 50m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle and 200m Freestyle in the 10 years age group. She was just outside her best times in the 50m events and did well in her first attempt at 200m Freestyle.

Jodie Pyman recorded personal bests when taking her silver medals as well as in the 50m Breaststroke. Conall Scott, also 11, reduced his time in the 50m Freestyle and swam well in his first 200m individual medley.

Thomas Nicoll took part in the 12 years age group. He reduced his time in the 200m butterfly and also swam in the 200m Breaststroke and 50m Freestyle.
