There are three rounds with swimmers from all over the East of Scotland competing for medals and championship points.

In round three the contestants had the opportunity to qualify for the 100m butterfly, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and 200m individual medley.

Thomas Nicoll swam in three events in the 12 and under boys’ category and achieved with good personal bests in butterfly and individual medley. In the 12 and under girls’ group Jodie Pyman qualified for four events - the 100m butterfly, freestyle, backstroke and individual medley, She reached the final in the butterfly by finishing 7th with a good personal; she was eighth in the individual medley and achieved personal bests in backstroke and individual medley.

Finlay Dewar, 15, competed in all five events and qualified for four finals. He was fifth in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and seventh in individual medley, achieving personal bests in the freestyle and individual medley.

Kathryn Swinney qualified for all five finals in the 15-year-old girls’ age group, with a long course personal best in the breaststroke. Gregor Swinney also took part in five races in the 16 and over age group, gaining long course personal bests in four of his five events.

Over the three weekends swimmers accumulate points depending on their position in a final. This year Finlay Dewar achieved seventh overall in the 15-year-old boys’ age group.
