SUN-SOAKED Bellahouston Park in Glasgow was the venue last Saturday for the 2015 Scottish Youth Triathlon Championships, run by Fusion Triathlon Club.

Almost 250 young athletes from all over the country, and even further in some cases, descended on the Glasgow park in contention for the title of Scottish Champion in five age categories.

In the Tristars 3 female age group (13-14 years old) racing 300m swim, 8km bike and 2400m run, local girl Anna McGorum (Peebles Cycling Club) managed to finish third with a total time of 31:28, joining in the podium with first girl Sam MacInnes in 30:49 (who had travelled all the way from Thailand, where she trains at Thanyapura Triathlon Centre) and second girl Kate Richardson (Fusion Triathlon Club) in 31:07 Anna´s little sister, Christina had also a successful race finishing fifth among the Tristars 1 girls (9-10 years old) after 150m swim, 4km bike and 1200m run.

Great thanks to Fusion Triathlon Club and all the marshalls and helpers on the day who put together a magnificent sports event.
