GREG RAEBURN and Ross Brown are both expected to be fit for this weekend's home game against Edinburgh Academicals.

The pair left the field early during last Saturday's 36-17 reversal away to Musselburgh, but First Team Coach Drew Moore is optimistic they will be available for selection. Murdo Anderson could also return, after missing the clash with Musselburgh due to a dead leg.

Speaking to the Peeblesshire news, Moore said: “Ross Brown took a knock, Greg took a knock, but both trained in the week and so we think they will be OK.

“It was a big blow losing Greg last Saturday. He scored an excellent try and was controlling things really nicely, so that was tough for us.”

Moore also felt the Pees were on the rough end of some curious decisions from the match officials. “We had Gavin Pringle off for 10 minutes with a yellow card, it was extremely harsh. He seemed to be off for over 15 minutes for a 10 minute yellow card and we played 48 minutes in the first half.

“When you are playing 3-5 minutes with a man down, and they are right in your line taking scrum after scrum it is hard to contend with. Our guys held out really well for as long as they could, we were always up against it from that point on. Those things can can be hard to take.”

Peebles do go into this Saturday's game having won their last two home games on the bounce, and Moore is hoping his side can take heart from that, with back-to-back fixtures against Accies and Watsonians at The Gytes.

“The guys are back to enjoying playing at The Gytes again. We've got two home games coming up, Accies and Watsonians, and they are tough teams, Accies, although they haven't had the best of starts, they have lost a couple of games on the road, but they have been putting some big scores together in the last few weeks.”

“It's another test, and another opportunity. We are a young side, last week, something like 13 out of the 15 were under 21 years of age. Recently we've had five under 18s in the side too. I feel that they are developing. Even some stuff at Musselburgh last week, there are periods of play where you sit back and think 'that's exactly what we want to be doing.' We just need to deliver that on a more consistent basis.”
