And a rallying call has been made by president David Preacher for everyone connected with the club to come along and show their support.

Mr Preacher told us: “Training starts next Tuesday and it gives us the opportunity to invite everyone along to meet and greet the players.

“It was only a month ago that we faced an uncertain future but a lot of people have come forward and things are looking good.” An emergency meeting last month attracted around 60 supporters to the Cabertson Haugh clubrooms.

Fears had been expressed over a lack of players, helpers and committee members.

But positions were quickly filled during the Sunday summit.

Next Tuesday’s training session is scheduled to start at 6.30pm for 7pm.

Mr Preacher added: “The door is open to any new players who would like to come along and train - the more the merrier.

“We hope that all the new committee members and also our helpers and supporters will also come along on Tuesday.”
