SUMMER 2013 saw the launch of an exciting new community project by the Arthur Trail Association: Hidden History of the Scottish Borders in the Time of King Arthur. The association is developing a Trail of little-known Dark Age sites across southern and central Scotland, to shed new light on a period, until; recently much neglected by academics, yet which represents some of the most dramatic and dynamic times in our history when Scotland was just beginning to be formed.

The survey and excavation of Glenrath in 2013 involved scores of local volunteers and literally hundreds of school children, who worked together to survey and excavate key sites at Glenrath in Manor Valley. The finds have now been analysed and the final results will turn what we thought we knew about Borders archaeology on its head!

All will be revealed at an exciting and free public lecture at Eastgate Theatre, Peebles, on Thursday, February 27, at 7.30pm.
