STOBO Village Hall has landed a major musical coup with the booking of acclaimed singer/songwriter Matt Woosey on Sunday, November 16.
Early booking is advisable for the live show by one of the leading lights on the alternative British blues scene.
Currently promoting his seventh studio album Wildest Dreams, the 30-year-old, who is based in Worcestershire, has chosen Stobo as his only Scottish gig on a 30-date UK tour.
Over the past six years, Wooesy has been a hot ticket at clubs and festivals, thanks in no small part to glowing endorsements from radio deejays Paul Jones and Tom Robinson.
His guitar-playing style has been compared to both Rory Gallagher and John Martyn, while his unique vocal delivery has spawned a whole new genre – Wooseyblues – among his legion of fans.
One of those admirers is Stobo hall committee member Jenny Haywood who saw Woosey in cracking form at this year’s Durham Blues Festival and was delighted when he agreed to come to the 60-seater venue.
Tickets for the show, which starts at 7.30pm, are £12 (£10 concessions) and are now available from Jenny on 01721 740620 or 07809 480 283.
