WITH one of the largest entries of livestock in Scotland, main ring entertainment, show jumping, poultry classes and almost 100 trade stands, there is something for everyone at the Peebles Agricultural Show.

Come and bee amazed as Scottish Beekeepers bring their stand to Peebles this year to foster understanding about the role of these essential insects. There’s a chance to roll candles from beeswax, see a virtual hive, taste some honey and chat to beekeepers about their work.

Joseph’s Amazing Racing Camels will provide headline main ring entertainment - travelling all the way from Warwickshire for the event. After the racing there will be the opportunity to get a free camel ride, for those over 18.

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the Cheviot Sheep Society, and for all you Bluefaced Leicester lovers out there, there is a new event for 2105 - a Bluefaced Leicester Progeny Show. This is one of the first of it’s kind in Scotland and will showcase the performance of the breed through their offspring.

The theme for the Education Tent will be “Local Meat” and will feature butchery demonstrations by Forsyth’s, cookery demonstrations by Marie Clare James, a Tesco samples stall, cheese tasting and information, a venison stand, a Royal Dick Vet “Science of meat” display and RHET Borders mobile classroom on wheels featuring quizzes, information on livestock farming and live animals.

There will also be craft tents, a bike display, a wool tent with interactive wool display, the return of the Poultry tent, a variety of trade stands and, of course, the Children’s Pet Show.

The event gets underway on Saturday, August 15 at the Nether Horsburgh Farm in Cardrona. Tickets are priced £10 for adults, £5 concessions and £25 for a family of four.
