ST RONAN’S Silver Band held a very popular Christmas concert.
Both bands played a selection of pieces, including a number of Christmas favourites.
There was a firm focus on youth this year with three pieces featuring the ever-growing Future Band, when a number of young players made their concert debut.
In the main band, too, there were pieces featuring young players such as Callum Robb, Callum Anderson and Rory Murray; all of whom played extremely well.
The other soloist was Daniel Williamson who is no stranger to St Ronan’s, but was playing for the first time as a full time member of the band.
Just after the interval, Future Band conductor David Robb announced the recipient of the Community Council trophy for the young player showing most commitment to the Future Band.
This was awarded to 11-year-old Oliver Landers and community council chairman Paul Faris was on hand to make the presentation.
