EVERY pupil at Newlands Primary School, Romanno Bridge has been volved in learning about healthy eating and food preparation recently and everyone received a chef certificate of which they are very proud.
Each class cooked a selection of recipes which they then ate. The food for the recipes was kindly donated by Sainsbury’s and some parents came in to help out in the classes.
“I learned how to chop red peppers safely,” said Murray. “I learned about knife safety skills,” said Poppy.
Everyone learned a lot of new skills and had a fun time doing it.
Pupils and staff dressed up as athletes to raise money for Sport Relief. Pupils also completed an obstacle course set up by the Pupil Council and Mrs Hastings, PE teacher. It was a very challenging course but everyone tried their best and managed it. A second hand book sale, organised by the P5 boys also raised money and the total for Sport Relief was £170.40.
