POLICE are investigating a report of a hit and run incident in Innerleithen.
A Vauxhall Insignia parked in Morningside was hit on Monday, October 20.
However, the driver of the offending vehicle failed to stop.
Police revealed the details in their monthly report to Innerleithen, Traquair and Glen Community Council on Monday.
Elsewhere, the B7062 road between Cardrona and Innerleithen was blocked after a Ford Fiesta overturned after mounting a grass verge on Monday, October 17. The driver was charged with careless driving and issued with a fixed penalty ticket with three penalty points and a £100 fine.
The following week, a vehicle travelling on the same road mounted the kerb and dislodged a bollard. But community councillors heard the driver failed to stop or report the accident.
Using parts from the vehicle police traced the owner who was charged with careless driving and failing to report a vehicle accident.
