POLICE in the Borders are appealing for witnesses after an Innerleithen house was broken into last week.
The house on Millwell Park was targeted at some point between 11.30am on Tuesday, January 19, and 1.20am today (Monday, January 25) while the owner was on holiday.
A double-glazed patio door was smashed and various cupboards and drawers searched, and ransacked.
Officers are now keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can assist them with their inquiries, particularly if they witnessed anything suspicious in the area.
Inspector Kevin Harris of Melrose Police Station said: “We are undertaking various inquiries in Innerleithen but we are also keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Millwell Park area.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
