POLICE are trying track down thieves who stole six mountain bikes during a raid on a sheds in Peebles.

The high-value bikes were taken from two locked sheds on St Andrew's Street between 11pm yesterday and 9am today.

The bikes which were taken area a black and grey Genesis Core, a Gary Fisher Lahoo, a white, black and blue Carerra Valour, a black and green Camber Comp Carbon 29, black Langster and an unmarked carbon racing bike with Claud Butler and Teviot Cycles stickers.

Officers are urging nearby residents to check their sheds and outhouses.

An appeal has also been made for information.

PC Nicola Robb said: “If anyone remembers seeing someone acting suspiciously in this area, or has any relevant information, please contact us”.
