HUNDREDS lined the streets across Peeblesshire on Sunday to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Services were held all over the region and many came to pay their respects to the heroes in Peebles and in Walkerburn.
Kathleen Mason, who was one of the organisers of the Peebles parade, told the Peeblesshire News: “The event in Peebles was very well attended and was a success overall.
“I think it was similar to the previous events we have had in terms of numbers and the Royal British Legion had collection boxes to raise money for the charity.”
Mike Stark, president of the Peebles Branch of the Royal British Legion, added: “It was a very nice tribute and very similar to what we always do.
“There were 24 wreaths laid, which is a lot, and I would say there were around 100 people there, although it’s difficult to say when it is a large group.
“The Lord Lieutenant was there as well as representatives from many groups like Peebles Community Council, the ex-servicemen’s club, the Rotary club, the Masonic Lodge and the cadet force and girl guides.
“There were also four regimental associations involved with the parade,” he added.
