MUSICIANS from Peebles enjoyed a golden weekend at the Scottish Concert Band Festival finals at the weekend.
Peebles Concert Band entered December's regional heats in Livingston for the very first time.
And they came away with a Silver Plus award as well as an invitation to play at the finals in Perth Concert Hall last weekend.
On Sunday, along with 38 of the best Concert and Wind bands in Scotland, they delighted the audience with a varied 20-minute programme.
The performances were listened to and assessed by three adjudicators.
And at the end of the morning Peebles Concert Band was awarded a Gold Certificate.
A spokeswoman for Peebles Silver Band told us: "With players of all ages the concert band encompasses the musical talent Peebles has to offer and represented the town honourably.
"Conducted by Vaughan Fleischfresser the band put on a confident performance.
"The band is thrilled with this result - taking part Scottish Concert Band Festival has helped to not only improve our playing but also bring us together."
The 20 minute programme consisted of four pieces - Canticum by James Curnow, Celtic Air and Dance arranged by Michael Sweeney, Earth Song by Frank Ticheli and Metrix by Robert Sheldon,
