PEEBLES residents are being invited to stick it to speeders in the town.
A scheme is being launched for locals to place speed-limit stickers on their roadside wheelie bins.
Peebles Community Council is looking for anyone living in known speeding areas to purchase the eye-catching stickers.
The move follows a similar scheme by the community council and residents in West Linton to combat speeding earlier this year.
Secretary of Peebles Community Council, Anne Snoddy said: “The Community Council would be prepared to order a print run of 50 or more if there was enough interest.
“Unfortunately in these austere times householders would have to pay for the stickers themselves.
“The cost would be £1.20 for a regular sticker and £3.50 for a reflective one.
“Please let us know if you would be interested in buying a sticker by Friday, November 17 so we can place an order.”
Anyone interested can contact Anne through email at secretary@ccrbpeebles.co.uk or telephone 01721 722882.
