NOMINATIONS are being sought for this year’s Robert Noble Trophy.
Introduced in 1985, the annual accolade is awarded to a person or group in Tweeddale which has successfully encouraged young people to become involved in the arts.
Over the years, the trophy, set up by the Robert Noble Company of March Street Mills, has been presented to well-known locals and groups including Dan Ward, Claire Garnett, Shakespeare at Traquair and the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery – as part of the Creative Peebles Festival.
In 2008, it was overhauled with a new silver ring added to the base to accommodate the growing list of names – the most recent of which being Kids Innerleithen Youth Theatre which won the cup last year.
Nominations should be emailed to marketing@eastgatearts.co.uk together with up to 200 words of explanation as to why they should win. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, July 31.
The winner will be announced during the festival, which runs from August 24 to September 2.
The full programme is available online at www.eastgatearts.com/festival
