Biggar Bridge Club recently held a charity event with Peebles Bridge Club to raise funds for Lanarkshire Cancer Care, writes Norma Perry.
This organisation provides volunteer drivers to transport patients to and from hospital.
Members were delighted to welcome Marie McCann, and to present her with a cheque for £260.
The winners overall were Gordon Finch and Gordon Milne of Peebles who narrowly defeated May Cameron and Gavin Lambie of Biggar.
The photo shows Cathy Cursiter, chair of Biggar Bridge Club presenting Mrs with the cheque.
A reminder that bridge lessons for beginners started on Wednesday, September 5 in the bridge room at 7pm and lessons for intermediate players started on Thursday, September 6 at 2pm, also in the bridge room.
