A Peebles woman has raised more than £600 for a charity – with a little help from a friend who shaved off his hair.
Shonagh Milne decided to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support after losing her grandparents to cancer and watching her mum battle the disease three times.
Together with her friends at the Bridge Inn, Shonagh raised £500 by hosting a coffee morning last month.
And her friend Ronan Nisbet was so inspired by her fundraising efforts, he grabbed the clippers and sheared off his hair. His decision to baldly go takes the total to £640.37.
Shonagh said: “This charity means the world to me having watched people close to me lose their lives to cancer or who are still fighting it. I am overwhelmed by the support I received from the community and so thankful to everyone who helped, especially Nikki Cassidy at the Bridge Inn and Jade Norval.”
Ronan added: “It was a pleasure to help raise money for such a great cause which means a lot to me.”
