A LAND owner in Peeblesshire is fighting a tidy-up order from the council by appealing to the Scottish Government.
Andrew Brown has been given two weeks to remove sheds, a van, metal sheeting, wheelie bins, tyres and gardening equipment from a site at Gallowberry Bank.
An enforcement notice has been served by the local authority.
And if the site isn't cleared within two months Peebles-based Mr Brown faces further action.
The notice states: "It is considered that these items adversely affect the amenity of the area."
But this week Mr Brown has submitted an appeal with the Government on grounds that the council's requirements are excessive.
He also claims that due to ill-health and unemployment he's in position to clear the site himself or employ workers.
His case will be considered by the Scottish Government Planning and Environmental Appeal over the coming weeks.
