A Peebles teenager will stand trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court in the New Year on a drink driving charge.
Nineteen year old Lambert Rattray of Witchwood Crescent, pleaded not guilty to driving with a breath/alcohol count of 41 microgrammes - the legal limit being 22 - in Dalatho Crescent, Peebles, on November 19 last year.
He also denied driving a car away without the consent of the owner, having no licence, no insurance and careless driving on the A703 road where he is said to have caused his vehicle to collide with a fence.
The Crown asked for an adjournment to the trial scheduled for last week due to the non-appearance of a witness.
As it was the second time the Crown had made such a motion, it was opposed by Rattray's lawyer Ross Dow.
Sheriff Eric Brown said that in the interests of justice he would allow new dates to be fixed.
The trial will now take place on February 14 with an intermediate hearing on January 28.
