A WEST LINTON tractor run has rolled into action to raise cash for a children's charity.

Thirteen tractors took part in the 30 mile run on Saturday January 5 which raised £1000 for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.

The group started the day at West Linton village green before driving a route through Rommano bridge and up over the Meldons into Eddleston where they enjoyed tea and bacon rolls at The Scotts Pine, courtesy of M Mckenzie OLD Pentland.

The convoy then made its through Lamancha and back to West Linton where they enjoyed refreshments at Olde Toll Tea House.

Organising the event were Murray Mackenzie and Alex Pettie.

Murray said: "My father Frank has done these tractor runs before so he kept us right when we were organising it.

"We chose to raise money for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland's facility up in Kinross because my wife's cousin's child uses it so it's nice to raise some money for them.

"It was quite a small run compared with the ones in the summer but the people who were there, and some others, have already said they want to do it again next year so we will plan that."
