COMIC Relief will be hitting the high notes and the road this weekend with a little help from a Peebles community choir.

InChorus will travel around the Borders on Sunday to perform at various unlikely venues.

And they hope their selection of contemporary upbeat and light-hearted songs will bring a smile to audiences as well as boost funds for Comic Relief.

InChorus events manager Paul Sewell told us: “We intend to stop wherever there are groups of people and sing to them. Comic Relief assists so many worthy charities and we want to raise as much for them as possible.

"For our part the trick will be to sing well while wearing our red noses!”

InChorus will open their day-long tour with a set in the Peebles branch of Sainsbury's at 12.30pm.

Their next scheduled stop is Borders General Hospital's WRVS lounge.

And then it will be on to Milestone Garden Centre near Newtown St Boswells and Woodside Garden Centre near Ancrum before an encore at Saunsbury's in Kelso.

As well as singing the choir will be collecting for the charity.

Choir manager Lynne Johannessen added: “It is very much the ethos of InChorus to assist other charities when possible.

"Over the past ten years we have raised tens of thousands of pounds to this end.

"During this time we have received enormous support from the public and hope they will give generously if they see us on Sunday.

"Please look out for us and come and say ‘hello'."
