MUSIC in Peebles is set to host the A4 Brass Quartet later this month.

The Tunnell Trust 2017 Young Musician award winners, will head to the Eastgate Theatre on Tuesday, March 26.

A spokesperson for the concert said: "Since their formation in 2013 at the Royal Northern College of Music, A4 Brass have won many prestigious prizes and performed widely at major festivals and venues, featured on TV and radio, and commissioned new music, as well as arranging existing music for themselves – some of which we can hear on their first CD released in 2016.

"This concert programme is an eclectic mix of arrangements by members of the group, ranging from the evocative ‘South Uist Variations’ to the beautiful song of hope ‘Mae-e’, in memory of victims of the 2011 Japanese earthquake.

"There’s also the finale of Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony as you’ve never heard it before and, in the second half, an intriguing sequence of pieces neglected and well-known."

The event will begin at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £15, discounts £7, full-time students, up to age 25, go free.

They are available from Eastgate Theatre box office on 01721 725777 and at www.eastgatearts.com.
