FORMER Peebles High School students are being called to relive the swinging sixties at a reunion next month.

The 50th celebration, on Saturday, July 6, in Peebles Rugby Club, is open to anyone who was an S1 in 1969.

It is hoped that former pupils will reminisce with friends they made in the days of flower power flares and platforms.

Organiser Jan Ramsay said the reunion plans began last year following a conversation she had with former Beltane Queen Margaret Woods.

She said: “We couldn’t believe that it was 50 years since we started high school and we are all now in our 60s.

“It’s been a challenge and I’m still not sure how many are going to turn up but I’m really looking forward to it.”

A page dedicated to the reunion has been created on Facebook – Peebles High 1st Year in 1969 – 50th Reunion in 2019. Former pupils can request to join this for more details, and those not on social media should email jan.ramsay@sky.com
