ALMOST £3,000 was raised last month during the Friends of the BGH annual golf day.

A total of 15 teams entered the competition at Roxburghe Golf Club.

All money raised went towards the charity's campaign to buy a bladder scanner for Ward 9 at the hospital.

Following a fine day on the fairways it was Broon's Badgers, featuring Simon Blair, Stephen Amos, Martin Baird and Fraser McClung who were the winners.

This most recent event by the Friends of the BGH has helped them reach their fundraising target.

And the ward will soon have its new scanner.

Ward 9 senior nurse Grace Brydon thanked all the teams for their generosity.

James Marjoribanks, chairman of the Friends of the BGH, added: "Thanks also goes to the Roxburghe Golf Course for helping run the charity event which takes place always on the first Thursday in October."
