BORDERS health bosses are asking former patients to contribute to online feedback on the services they provide.

Care Opinion allows Borderers to share their experiences of care and services with NHS Borders in a way which aims to help improve services across the region.

Since first being implemented in the Borders, Care Opinion has drawn in more than 600 stories of care with NHS Borders.

Nicky Berry, Director of Nursing, Midwifery & Acute Services at NHS Borders, said: "It is important that we learn from our patient experiences, both good and bad."

During lockdown, many of the submissions to Care Opinion have been in relation to the service's Home First team, with one patient thanking the team for its "professionalism and re-assuring attention".

NHS Borders mental health services were also described by another patient providing "fantastic support" in a "warm approachable manner".

Ms Berry added: "It is important that we learn from our patient experiences, both good and bad, and are able to continue to improve our services to ensure that we provide the best possible care for the people we serve.

"It is essential for us to hear directly from patients and their families about what we do well and what we could do better.

"Having an open and honest conversation with patients enables us to take direct action, so please give us your feedback at www.careopinion.org.uk."
