NINE new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Borders in the last 24 hours.

Scottish Government data, published at 2pm today (Friday, October 30), stated the rise in cases.

Since March, the Borders has recorded a total of 699 cases.

Across Scotland in the last 24 hours, the number of new cases is 1,281.

Nationally, there have been 28 deaths in the last 24 hours where coronavirus has been mentioned on the death certificate.

Data published on Wednesday (October 28) shows a death happened in the Borders last week.

There are currently fewer than five people in hospital in the region.
