THE Borders has recorded 20 new cases of COVID-19 in a 24-hour period.
Data released today (Thursday, June 17) by the Scottish Government shows that the total number of cases in the region has now risen to 3,068 since March 2020.
This latest increase means the seven-day total of cases now stands at 102 for the week between June 10-17.
Despite this increase in cases, however, the number of people in hospital with the virus in the Borders remains below five.
Nationally there has been a case increase of 1,317 in the last 24 hours, and there are currently 140 people in hospital with COVID-19.
