THE Borders has recorded 28 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures.

At 2pm today (July 20), the Scottish Government published new data.

And the updated figures show the Borders has now seen 4,336 cases of COVID-19 since March last year.

There are now eight people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of the virus, according to the data.

There were seven people in hospital in the region yesterday.

Scotland has now recorded 332,455 cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, the new figures show.
