LOOK at this wee cutie, crowned Times Tots winner in 2019.

Aisla Maiden was two years old when she won our competition – which celebrates Glasgow’s cutest and most charismatic children.

Now four, Aisla and her family – who live in Springboig – won £1000 in cash, a £1500 travel gift card for Stewart Travel and Jet2 Holidays and a £250 Forge Shopping Centre gift card.

Glasgow Times:

On the re-launch of this year’s competition, we caught up with Aisla and her proud mum, Claire, who is urging parents to enter their kids into this year’s event.

She said: “Aisla is doing fantastic and is really enjoying life. It was tough during lockdown but she made a lovely little fairy garden that kept us all busy.

Glasgow Times:

“She’s at nursery now and she goes dancing on Saturdays. She’s so energetic and is a very happy-go-lucky wee girl.

“We’ve still got Isla’s medal up on the shelf and we remind her that she won it and it makes her so happy. Taking part in the competition was an amazing experience.”

Unfortunately, Aisla’s trophy holiday to Spain was cancelled last year due to Covid-19.

The family have, instead, been re-booked to jet away next month.

Glasgow Times:

“The travel agent was great and we’re going next month instead now – we’re just getting ready and thinking of activities to do,” said Claire.

“Isla is so excited about it all. We’re going as a family so it’ll be nice to do something fun for a change – get some sunshine and a bit of normality back.

“The competition as a whole was an amazing experience, we won £1000 which we put aside as spending money for the holiday.

“I would definitely encourage parents to enter their kids into it. It was such a lovely experience and you can remind them in years to come that they won it.”

Last year the competition was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Glasgow Times:

But with life returning to normal, we are looking for Glasgow’s cute kids once again.

This year, however, we will ask you to submit your own photo for the competition.

The photo you submit must feature the child alone. The image must show the child clearly, it has to be forward-facing and have no watermarks.

Poor quality photos will be disqualified from the competition and due to the high level of entries we will not contact you to ask for a better photo.

You can, however, submit as many photos as you like.

In your entry, please also tell us your child’s name, age (Entrants must be under five years of age until the end of the contest and proof of age may be required such as a birth certificate), and where they are from.

It is important that full parent or guardian consent is sought for anyone entering the competition.

The Glasgow Times will run all entrants in the newspaper when we open up Times Tots to the public vote. We will then have a top 300, 100, and 20 before announcing our winner.

The competition will close at midnight on Friday, August 13. Our top prize is £1000 with a second-place winner receiving £350. Third place will win £150.

Assistant editor Stacey Mullen said: “This competition is a favourite with our readers which is why we’re bringing it back. We know many readers missed Times Tots last year and now we have a lot of new babies who were born in lockdown that we should celebrate.

“We would love for as many readers as possible to get entering so we can celebrate Glasgow’s weans.”
