A BORDERS man who brandished a hammer during an incident in a Spar shop will be sentenced next month.
Forty-two-year-old Rory Barnes, of Ettrickhaugh Road, Selkirk, pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour on January 15.
The incident occurred in the town's Spar shop in Market Place.

At Selkirk Sheriff Court he admitted shouting and swearing and brandishing a hammer – the offence being committed while he was on bail.
Sheriff Peter Paterson called for background reports in view of Barnes' previous record and the fact the offence happened in a public place.
Sentence was deferred until September 6 for the production of a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.
