PEEBLES will be treated to the ‘greatest show’ this Bonfire Night and those attending are invited to bring their best singing voices.

Following the cancellation of last year’s Round Table fireworks display due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual event is set to return with a bang.

Themed around the musical The Greatest Showman, the display will feature food and drink stalls, fairground rides and light up treats for children. This year the Guy for the display was designed by Priorsford Primary School nursery pupils, including a top hat and tails.

Priorsfords headteacher Sandra McGregor said: “Our nursery children were delighted to be asked to make the Guy for this year’s bonfire. The children enjoyed singing along to the music as they made him.”

A Peebles and District Round Table spokesperson said: “Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Stobo Castle Health Spa, all donations this year will go to support Peeblesshire Foodbank and Peeblesshire Youth Trust in support of their Christmas hampers project.”

A suggested donation of £5 per adult can be made at localgiving.org/peeblesfireworks2021 or by texting to ‘Give’ to 70460. Cash or contactless card donations can be made on the day.

The fireworks display will take place at Victoria Park on Saturday (November 6) with the bonfire being lit at 7pm and fireworks starting at 7.30pm.
