UPDATE: The road has now reopened in both directions.
POLICE are on the scene after a “road traffic incident” near Borders General Hospital, according to officials.
The A6091 is closed in both directions at the site near Melrose.
The incident took place at around 8.45am this morning, according to a Traffic Scotland spokesperson.
Motorists are being encouraged to use an alternative route and to expect delays.
