MORE than 1,900 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the Borders in the last 24 hours, the latest figures show.
The Scottish Government published updated statistics at 2pm today (February 10).
Case numbers previously only included the positive results from PCR tests in the region, however, these figures now include the positive results from Lateral Flow Tests.
The change came into effect on February 5, resulting in a large "one-off" increase in today's figures.
And the data shows that the region has now seen 20,059 cases of COVID-19 since March 2020 – a rise of 1,923 compared with yesterday's figures.
There are 28 people in hospital in the Borders with recently confirmed cases of coronavirus, according to the figures – one fewer than yesterday.
The total number of cases in Scotland now stands at 1,283,259.
